Members of the Participatory Action Research team met in Beaumont, Texas in May. We kicked of year 2 of our project. This year, we will create training for self-advocates. It will help them learn about working on projects for pay. We will also create tools for researchers and project staff. We will create a LinkedIn group to help self-advocates and project staff find each other. This will make hiring self-advocates to work on projects easier. We believe people with intellectual and developmental disabilities should work on projects about their lives!
