Our self-advocates are bursting with pride. After a year of hard work, we’re sharing free participatory action research courses! They are part of our Participatory Action Research Start Up! series. They help self-advocates learn to work on projects about their lives.
What You’ll Learn
Our Start Up! series teaches important basics. You’ll learn about:
- What participatory action research is and why it’s important
- Why you should get paid for your lived expertise
- How to talk and listen in ways that work for everyone
- How to work well as a team
Our courses include videos from peers and fun learning games. Check out this video from our peer, Brooke.
Who It’s For
These courses were made by self-advocates, for self-advocates. They are easy to take online. They have read-aloud support on every screen. There are built-in learning breaks. Your progress gets saved automatically.
We also have Group Learning Guides. They are great for teachers, researchers, service providers, and program staff. They help you teach self-advocates working on your projects. They also help build your self-advocacy curriculum.
Stay Tuned for More Participatory Action Research Courses
Soon we’ll launch our Level Up! series. These courses will continue with more advanced skills. We’ll have courses on:
- Accessibility
- Boundaries
- Informed Consent
Stay tuned for the Level Up! series.
